Queensland Teachers and their Employers
Registration is now open. Workshops for provisionally registered teachers will focus on the process of moving from provisional to full registration. Information sessions for fully registered teachers will provide details about renewal of registration, including the areas of recency of practice and continuing professional development. This year's sessions will also include information about the National Professional Standards for Teachers and other changes related to registration which will apply from 2013.

Any teacher who is affected by a natural disaster in Queensland can contact the QCT via our email hotline with requests for information or for hardship considerations. A customer service officer will respond directly to you.
From 2013, under changes endorsed by all Australian Education Ministers, teachers registered in Queensland will use the National Professional Standards for Teachers. During 2012, the Professional Standards for Queensland Teachers will continue to be used in Queensland for all registration purposes. From 2013, there will also be changes to the amount of teaching required for recency of practice and the amount of continuing professional development (CPD) that must be completed every five years for renewal of registration purposes. These changes do not commence until 2013, which means that for 2012, all teachers must continue to meet current requirements, which include at least 30 hours of CPD per year for teachers working full-time.
The Register of Teachers is a list of persons who hold or have held registration as a teacher in Queensland.
