Returning to Teaching in Schools
Registered teachers who do not meet the minimum requirements for recency of practice at the time of their five-yearly renewal of registration will have their full registration renewed but with a condition to undertake a Returning to Teaching in Schools program. This program must be undertaken either in the 12 months prior to, or within 12 months after, returning to teach in a school.
The Queensland College of Teachers will be developing policies and procedures in this area. Information will be made available as soon as possible.
It is expected that approved Returning to Teaching in Schools programs will be delivered by appropriate providers in a variety of flexible modes, for example using distance learning methods.
